For something sharp to open the drawer in the living room:
Go up to your room (room 8) and go to your desk open the drawer in your desk, there should be a letter opener go down to the living room drawer and pick up your letter opener and click on the drawer. it should open after that.
after you find the bird: bring it back to the lodge with you. go into the boat shacked and find the bird stand, put it in your inventory. bring it up to your room and place it in the corner by your dresser. then place the bird on top.
wait, where's the drawer in the living room? I'm on chap. 5, but I keep clicking on the birch looking drawer in the living room when you first walk in, and all Jane says is 'nothing here.' I called Aunt Ellen, btw.
are u sure the suitcase is showing in your inventory??...... when you get back to Anne's cabin, did you look in the lobby for the chess game pieces ( over by chairs. if not do that then go talk to Anne. if she still doesn't talk to you , you have missed a step somewhere, you can review the steps on my help post for all the chapters
