Heyy can anyone help me my budgies which I had sent the pic flew away. So I bought new pair which is double cute. And I have confusion. I know the cere with dark blue is male but I cannot distinguish the female

PLs help if there is any budgie specialist in vfk....pls

I wish I knew about this thread! I've owned budgies for many years!

A blue cere can mean a boy or a girl!! Can you please post a picture for me. 

Also, I'm going to suggest for you to take the birds to the vet for check up. I always do this for my birds each year. Yes, it maybe expensive, but if the budgies are sick or there is something wrong, the vet will help. I always take mine for annual checks. 

My budgie is Remy! She is a 4 year old blue-violet yellow head II. I got Remy on Christmas Eve 2012. She has been sick for a while now and is on antibiotics, which hopefully will make her better!  

Also, if you have 2 males or 2 females, I would suggest you separate them! The reason is that they are very territorial and can become aggressive toward one another. I have had females bully males to the point the female would not allow the male to eat, and I almost lost him to starvation! I had to separate them in order for my male not to perish. Females can also fight one another! Again, that is another reason to separate them if they are the same gender.

Now because yours are young. You can determine how young they are by the lines on their heads. And if you can't, I can tell you how old they are and what gender they are by the picture.

Also, I would recommend feeding them daily some veggies and fruit! Please understand and this is very important, some veggies and fruits are not good for budgies and can get them sick or even die. I will recommend you to purchase a book on Budgies or read up on them on the internet!
