At the End

Okay so I'm at the end of this game but I don't know if I have a glitch or if there is something I am missing. I opened the chest in the tunnels under the house but there is an extra lock on the chest and none of the keys I have open it. Am I missing a key or am I trying to open it too early?

Thank you! That was the part I was missing! Now that I have the book what do I do with it? I took a pretty long break from this game so I do not know what to do next.

You are right, you're very close the solving everything! The next step is to take the book to the main Lab on the second floor and use the special formula you used to reveal letter when you were in the secret laboratory above the library!
