I have all 8 things, but I can't get my foul weather gear out from under my bed or pick up the checkers.

I just checked and your doing great!  You have all the items you needed to secure the boat and have closed all the ports, your next step is to go down into the engine room and turn on the bilge pumps and switch the tanks!

I have all that done and now I can't get my weather gear or the chess pieces. I don't know if I missed anything or my game is just stuck.

You've done wonderfully @Purplellama!  The only thing you need to do is set the radio up!

How do you move the pieces? I tried to move them but it wouldn't work.

From the main rotation click on the radio, then click, hold and drag the bottom volume knob.  Then adjust the rest of the knobs the same way!
