So I have aforementioned that I use water decals. Its kind of like using wall decals on your walls or windows, same concept but without the water and without the adhesive. Nail decal sheets are printed on soluble paper!
And here I'll show you the decals in different backgrounds: SOLID COLOR, NATURAL NAILS and GLITTER!
Here are simple steps:
1. Cut your designs from the sheet. Cut as close to the image if you want.
2. Prepare a small jar of water. I use this cute jar from its previous life as a jam holder. :)
3. Drop your cut design on the water. Wait for 20 seconds - standard time for when you can safely get it out. If you wait longer the soluble paper absorbs so much water that it will sink to the bottom and the design left on the surface would be too soft to work on (trust me I had this mistake couple of times).
4. Using your tweezers, grab the decal. And with your non dominant hand separate the decal from the paper. Use the tweezer in placing your decal on nail.
5. If your polish is tacky, lay it gently and tap ever so gently to make it smooth. If polish is dry, lay it on and you can even use a piece of sponge to push the design. Since it still has a little bit of water adhered to it, it will stick to the dry nail polish.
6. Apply top coat when you're satisfied to encase your design!
*** Hello Kitty nails are without top coat to show how it looks like and you can get away with it, it lasts for days even a week.
HELLO KITTY NAILS + FLOWERS CARTOON
NATURAL FLOWERS + GOLD GLITTER FRENCH TIP
VINTAGE FLOWERS + LIGHT TIFFANY BLUE
This is the sheet I used! You can use white background for a more opaque result.
I'll post more other decals in the future and let me know how yours turned out if you try it!
