Hello! I'm posting this based on what happened on the anime costume ideas post the last few days. As most of you probably know last Saturday VFK released the new costumes which were of a video game called Kid Icarus. Me and a few other people had suggested this so of course we were happy to see this idea actually happen! It was actually my most wanted costume for this year. However some people didn't really like it. I saw a few people disappointed in game and message boards. Then on the anime discussion came a argument about too many anime\video game based costumes and needing more movie/TV and generic costumes. The discussion is now closed cause of this so I thought I would post my thoughts here.

I do think we shouldn't get way too many anime\video game but the thing is we don't have a ton of them. I think we should have more TV and movies since people are wanting them but it seems like people wanted anime and video games out completely which I don't agree with. A lot of people also want anime as well. I think VFK can do some movies and generic and still do anime as well since they do tons of costumes per year and try to make it fair for everyone.

Another complaint is that Kid Icarus is not relevant. That is true but I don't think popularity of something should matter. Plus the two characters that were released are gonna be in a very popular video game called Super Smash Bros Ultimate soon which a lot of you might know of so it is actually kind of relevant. I think all that matters is that it is a nice outfit. Plus it is also kind of like the new version of the angel costume from 2008! Another thing was generic costumes which this costume could also be passed off as a generic costume.

The last thing I want to say is that there will probably be tons of costume releases as Halloween gets near so don't lose hope for your idea! And VFK will not just do only anime\video game costumes so don't worry about that either. However there might be another one for all we know but please don't be upset or complain if there is cause most of the costumes will probably not be anime\video game.

I'm not sure if this really matters but I thought this was kind of interesting. One fun fact I found about the characters is that back in 2008 the character Pit(the boy costume) was voiced by Lani Minella who was in Miss Clue: Trials of Salem!

I'm mainly posting this because I see costume arguments every year and the argument on the last discussion was bothering me a bit. No matter what costume we get there will always be someone who doesn't like it and if you don't like a costume be happy for the people that wanted it! :)

I tried to be as neutral as possible to be on both sides. Please try not to start drama.

I am all for more video game/anime costumes. I love both. I am also not opposed to getting movie/tv show costumes. Two popular movies that I seen suggested and I wouldn't mind having are phantom of the opera and pirates of the Caribbean.I never seen phantom of the opera but those costumes look beautiful and you can never go wrong with another pirate costume. One tv show costume I would really love to have is adventure time. As for movies I would love a gone with the win inspired outfit or my fair lady. As for generic costumes I wouldn't mind seeing a new ghost costume that was transparent. I just want people to be happy and get what they want and if you don't get what you want I see nothing wrong with being happy for those who do.

I kinda wish the anti anime posts stayed off my thread. Vfk locked my theard because of all the nonsense on it, which is not cool. I was enjoying seeing the other costumes pictures people were posting; I spent a few hours gathering my references. It just makes me feel like I wasted my time quite honestly.

Excuse my last post of sarcasm. I feel like I should reiterate/reword what myself and the others were trying to explain. We are in no way, shape, or form against anime or video game costumes being in VFK. We are so glad that VFK Staff have been taking more suggestions from the community. We aren't "anti-anime."

We are, however, a bit upset at the lack of diversity among where the suggestions are being taken from. There are thousands of players on VFK, which means there are thousands of ideas out there. Yet, we've noticed that suggestions are only being taken from a select handful of people, and it's discouraging to us.

We're frustrated, upset, and sad that our ideas are being ignored in favorite of ideas coming from the same group. Again, we're so happy that others have had their ideas come true, and seeing them happy is a great thing in this community, but it hurts the rest of us who have never once had an idea come true, despite our suggestions each year.

I apologize if I came off as rude before, but I felt that the best way to state my opinion was to be blunt. You said that you feel like making your list of ideas was a waste of time? I'm sorry, but this is how the rest of us feel each year when our ideas are flushed down the toilet.

Remember, you posted your ideas on a public forum. There is bound to be people who will not agree with you, and they have the right to state their opinions and disagree just as much as you do.

@Jessizoid BUT this does not mean a post should be locked down due to different views or cause an "uproar" due to different views. Everyone has an opinion sure but, you and others can also make another thread stating "hey we want a more open costume based ideas, we feel blah blah blah" you get the jist. No one is stoping you or others but I feel disagreeing on a post is.... not necessary. Especially if that post is just a suggestion and not a permanent thing. No one really disagreed with zoee's post or per's post. Why? Because it's not anime related? Yet per's and other people's post are filled with Disney. I don't see any of you guys complaining about that. You can disagree as much as you like, but it's irrelevant to the person's post, just make your own stating it and give ideas for different costumes.

The new costumes are out and its Jasmine and Aladdin! I think I've actually suggested this before cause Jasmine is one of my favourite Disney princesses. Most of our costume releases are Disney and I kind of think we are getting too many Disney but I'm okay with it because a lot of people are happy with the costume! :)

What do you think of the costume and what would you like to see? There are a lot of releases coming up so if you haven't gotten your suggestion yet don't lose hope! :)

black butler is a very inappropriate anime, and probably won't ever be made into vfk clothing. not trying to burst your bubble at all, but that's probably the reality of it.

I see your point, but Naruto is pretty inappropriate too and that got made. Also suicide squad costumes got made and that movie is extremely inappropriate.

I was about to point that out as well. I see why you say it but if we can get Suicide Squad then we can get Black Butler.

Popping back in on this discussion. The only inappropriate thing about Suicide Squad is the title and some violence, hence why it is rated PG-13 (and, in some countries, 12). Black Butler has several scenes over the course of its seasons that would be considered NSFW and highly inappropriate and uncomfortable for children, which is why it was rated MA16 in Japan and other parts of the world. Just a glance at both IMDB pages will give you all the information about the ratings in comparison to each other.

Friday the 13th has an R rating and there is a jason costume in the game. Also there is an it costume in the game and the original book that both movies are based off off of is very nsfw.

@cute_lina this will be my last response on this thread, as it is already pretty heated.

the clown costumes from last year are not from IT, they are generic clown costumes. there is also a very large difference in a horror movie involving murder, and an anime involving child pornography.

i think this is a very dumb argument.

@cute_lina I completely agree with @Cordelia and @Jessizoid I happen to watch Black Butler and it is HIGHLY inappropriate for it to be made on a family friendly game like VFK. Even if they are just costumes, they are representing something and I heard you and @Super_Princess_Rosalina talking earlier and they CANNOT be passes off as just 'Victorian Costumes' I would be extremely upset if this got put in game. This argument is done because that is the truth and nothing but the truth.

I 100% support @CampFire 's statement. If these costumes were to be placed into the game, the thought of children being exposed to something that is extremely harmful to them makes me physically uncomfortable. They could not be passed off as Victorian clothes due to the obvious fact that VFK always slightly changes the name of the characters that originally donned the costume. Plus, the idea of VFK stooping so low as to include references to media that intentionally displays inappropriate acts against children makes me furious.
